Cimetières français de Soupir

Places of memory in Soupir
  • Commonly called "Soupir I" and "Soupir II", these two cemeteries face each other on either side of the RD 925, on the outskirts of the town. Between them, they house a little more than 10,000 bodies of French soldiers (which is why "Soupir II" was created in 1934, as the first one had become too small) who fell on the outskirts of the Chemin des Dames during the first war. Note that some Russian soldiers are also buried there...
