Jardin de mémoire du Moulin de Laffaux

This monument was erected fifteen years after the first war in memory of the French trench artillerymen who used these torpedoes called "crapouillots" (nickname given by the Poilus to this mortar). It remains unique of its kind. Seriously damaged by lightning in 2007, it has been the subject of a total redevelopment of the site in recent years initiated by the General Council of the Aisne, to create a garden of memory combining various contiguous monuments and thus to restore this high place its obvious memory function (remember this line from Aragon, "Traveller, remember the Moulin de Laffaux"), and was re-inaugurated on June 14, 2014 ...
