This chapel overlooks the Ailette valley, above the village of Filain and the lake of Monampteuil. This place was a very popular pilgrimage until 1940, especially because of the presence, near a spring known to cure fevers. The location of this chapel was at stake in recurring battles, since 1814 when it was burned by Cossacks, before being completely destroyed during the First World War.
