Formerly a temporary French cemetery, it still contains a number of original gravestones.
This is where Joseph Déchelette, the father of French archaeology, was buried after his death on October 4, 1914.
He was a captain in the 298th infantry regiment, the regiment of the 6 who were shot.
Joseph Déchelette and the soldiers shot at Vingré are buried at the Bois-Robert necropolis in Ambleny.
