On the back is a paragraph from the Chanson de Roland, and on the side the 13 names of those killed in the battle: 11 soldiers and 2 officers, including Gaston de Gironde.
Gaston de Gironde and two cavalrymen from the 16th Dragons who fought under his command are buried in the Vivières civil cemetery.
