The exhibition “The Rose and the Storm”, located in the center of the nave of the churchof the former abbey Saint-Léger de Soissons, offers the public to visualize the restoration of the stone network of the western rose of the cathedral Saint-Gervais Saint-Protais in Aisne fallen and deposited after the Egon storm of January 2017. The church indeed embodies, in the same way as the cathedral, an essential historical monument of the town of Soissons which share its quality, its proportions and its period of construction constitutes an ideal place at the height of the work to be presented.

This exhibition furthermore celebrates the dynamics of reconstruction engaged and salutes the work of the various trades as well as the collaboration between the various regional services involved in the success of this project. It also offers a retranscription and sharing of the various stages of study, documentation, and restoration that were discussed and evoked prior to the start of construction. Finally, the exhibition “The Rose and the Storm” is an opportunity to learn more about the cultural and architectural richness and history of the town of Soissons.
